Over 130 premieres of new texts were shown in the Czech Repubilc last year. The Festival Board of the Centre For Contemporary Drama chose 8 to compete for the Mark Ravenhill Award which will be given in Prague on March 15. This year's award was designed by the controversial artist David Cerny whose sculpture Entropa was desplayed in Brussels in the European Parliament.
